LSPAA Chapter Events 2008-2009

Dear Lasalistas

We held our first board meeting yesterday at the home of our newly elected VP, Ted Aspillera.

Thank you, Ted for hosting and for the delicious barbeque.

We addressed guidelines, changes to be implemented for the next two years, increasing membership participation, enhancing the website and most importantly the events for the oncoming months.

Below is the list of events so you could plan ahead. Most of these also need volunteers and encourage participation. Separate emails detailing each event will be sent later by myself or from the committee head assigned to it.

  • August 19th

First LSPAA Social Mixer/Happy Hour

La Tasca, Washington DC

Tuesday, August 19th at 5pm

Our VP, Ted Aspillera sent out an email today about the details

  • October

Brother Gus Broquer visits Washington DC

October 12th

Luncheon at the home of past president, Rolly Saldana

Golf Tournament

Saturday date TBD

Francis Santayana will lead this event. Need volunteers. First meeting will be on Aug 13th

  • November 9th

Atlantic City Concert with Martin Nievera

Atlantic City Showboat Casino

Sunday, November 9th at 2pm

Chartered buses will be provided. Email me if you know of a good bus company

Exclusive distribution rights to the Washington DC/MD/VA and Baltimore given to LSPAA

  • December 6th

LSPAA Christmas Party for alumni and families

We are planning to hold the event at a hotel or country club.

If you know of a country club we could use, please call or email me.

  • January 31st

Pre-Valentine Party

We are planning to hold the event at a hotel

  • May 22nd – 24th

Southern California Chapter hosts 7th World Congress

Los Angeles, CA

Chartered excursions to Disneyland, Hollywood, Universal Studios, Outlet stores & Las Vegas

  • May/June

Overnight Campout.

This will be a yearly event.

This year’s campout was attended by 7 families who braved the great outdoors, canoeing & had a lot of fun. See article and pictures at our website www.lspaadc.org

Researching a venue for this. Details to follow.

We are also planning to have family events in between like bowling, hiking, day trips.
