Paaralang Pinoy is now accepting students for school year 2008-2009!

Posted by admin on August 20th, 2008

Hello All
Please see below an email from Odette Martinez, wife of our fellow member Rene Martinez who has both been active members of our association.   Odette has found her passion in helping dedicate her time to teach Filipino children about our language, heritage and culture.  It is very easy for our children to be immersed with the American culture.  I sometimes find it a daily struggle to incorporate the Filipino language with my children.   Here’s an opportunity for someone else to do the work for us, especially if you live in the Virginia area.

Please email Odette directly at paaralang.pinoy@yahoo.com  if you’re interested

Sorry 2nd email for the day na ito – wait for the 3rd one later that I will be sending about the Happy Hour.  Just waiting for the pictures from Adjo, Jay and Alex (ayan ha, no pressure J)

Subject: PAARALANG PINOY IS NOW ACCEPTING STUDENTS FOR SCHOOLYEAR 2008-2009!

Dear PP Parents/Guardians,

It is with pride and joy that we are sending out this email to let you know that we are now accepting Paaralang Pinoy student enrollment/registration for schoolyear 2008-2009.

For the upcoming schoolyear, emphasis will be given on conversational Tagalog. There will be a 30 minute PowerPoint presentation to showcase Philippine history, culture and tradition. The remaining hours will be dedicated to the study/review of our Philippine language. Classes will still be held on Sundays from 2-4pm at St. Benadette Catholic School. Classes will resume in October and end by May. Actual dates to be advised. Paaralang Pinoy will continue to do its best to enhance your children’s knowledge and appreciation for our Philippine language and culture.
The enrollment/registration fee is $80 (no increase despite the inflation!). Please complete the attached form and send it along with your check to:

Odette Martinez

10660 Myrtle Oak Ct.

Burke, VA 22015

PLEASE MAKE YOUR CHECKS PAYABLE TO FILIPINO MINISTRY. .

I also attached a VOLUNTEER’S REGISTRATION FORM in case you or someone you know may be interested in being a part of Paaralang Pinoy.

Please feel free to forward this to your friends and relatives. As classroom space is limited, acceptance of new enrollees will be based on a first-come, first-served basis.

Maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat.

On behalf of all PP volunteers,
Odette S. Martinez
