LSPAA Distributor for Matin Nievera Concert

Posted by admin on September 3rd, 2008

Dear Friends and Lasallians,

Our chapter has been offered to be the exclusive distributor in the DC, VA & MD for the Martin Nievera Concert that will be held on Sunday, November 9th at 2pm. The venue will be at the House of Blues, Showboat Casino in Atlantic City. The theme of the concert is to promote Martin’s 25 years in show business. Other acts playing are Lorrie Ilustre & Big Mouth Band.We have been mapping out the budget projections and marketing plan. Bing Crisologo has also helped us find the best quote for a chartered bus. After considering all the parameters including the promoter’s proposal who happens to be the past president of the DLSAA East Coast Chapter, the board has decided to accept the invitation. We have found that despite what seems to be a country of saturated markets, there is always opportunity for another fundraising project. How Our Chapter Would Benefit:The promoter has offered us a 15% commission based on ticket sales. In order for us to be able to establish a larger marketing radius and demographics, we are offering 10% of ticket sales to the participating community organization & Filipino store. In order to participate & avail of the 10% credit privilege, each organization or store must sell a minimum of 10 tickets (any denomination). For members, because you have paid your dues, you can avail of the 10% discount without a minimum quantity of ticket to purchase. The remaining 5% will be for our chapter.A portion of what our chapter receives will be earmarked for our One La Salle project. The promoter will be providing all the posters, flyers and tickets needed to advertise this eventMarketing Plan:The core of our marketing plan will be from Filipino organizations and schools and Filipino stores. I have started approaching some organizations and have about 13 who have agreed to participate.A fellow Alumni, Butch Lobaton who owns Asian Imports and has access to 23 Filipino stores in all 3 distribution areas has stepped in to help get all 23 stores to participate and promote our program. We would also like to invite businesses to become sponsors. We are assembling a very attractive benefit package. Please call or email me for details.Chartered Bus Option:For those who do not want to drive, we are offering a chartered bus option. New World Tours has the lowest quote for a chartered bus. The bus seats 55 people and we have allocated to charge $40 per passenger. We will be serving breakfast which would be included in the fare. Butch Lobaton has agreed to provide this for us but he will need help transporting the food. The suggested menu is tapsilog, losilog or tocilog. The Hilton Casino is expected to give a rebate to the passengers. This rebate can be used to play in casinos or to purchase food.Bus pick-up and drop-off times:7:00 am Assembly at Springfield Metro Station7:30 am Buses will start loading passengers11:00 am Arrival at Hilton Casino in Atlantic City2:00 pm Martin Nievera Concert at Showboat Casino4:00 pm Concert ends5:00 pm Buses depart for Springfield, Virginia11 pm Arrival at Springfield Metro StationTicket Prices:$98, $88, 68, 58 and 28. Please go to this site to view seating chart www.groupole.comWe need your support in spreading the word. So far we have only reserved 3 buses. Book early so you could get good seats. We need to coordinate seating and reservations ASAP. Please email me, Adjo or any member of the Board at info@lspaadc.org or Eileen_nadal@yahoo.com your reservations or any questions you might have.Let’s do this together, the success of this project depends on the level of participation of the members. Whether we earn a lot or earn a little, the success of this event is measured by the number of members who will participate.Animo La SalleEileen NadalPresidentLSPAA - DC/MD/VAwww.lspaadc.org301-580-7103
