http://share.escrip.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8CZNnDFm3aNQw
La Salle picnics are always fun. But who would have thought that Ateneans can be fun to be with too!
Maybe part of the reason was winning the last event of the sportsfest. The TUG-o-WAR! Almost 60 people attended the picnic to celebrate the completion of the first Ateneo La Salle DC Sportsfest. We look forward to bigger support and stronger teams next year!

http://share.escrip.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8CZNnDFm3aNQS
I must tell you. You had to be there. And that is all. We had an awesome team. Kudos to our players and to our coordinator Ricky Magallanes for helping us make this event a reality. Everyone is talking about doing this again. Thank you Johnny Roque for manning the scoreboard for La Salle. And thank you to those on the bleachers for helping me cheer our team. You see that blue padding on the wall under the ring? That was our drums. It was fun and happy but in the end we lost by a few points. It was still fun and happy because we have found new friends and members. We look forward to a better outcome next year.

Our chapter received a Special Citation Honor Chapter Award for our creative monthly activities that promoted a sense of fellowship, participation, camaraderie and a balance of fun, social responsibility and community awareness.
The Congress was a great mix of work, fun and creativity. The plenary session gave me a greater understanding of the One La Salle concept, history of La Salle and the Lasallian brothers. This was a very well-organized event. 2009-04-11 Potomac River Cherry Blossom Cruise

Being a business owner has some perks. For our April event, Alumni members and their friends chartered a magnificent 64 foot luxury yacht for fun, dinner and fireworks along the Potomac River. This is some serious fun for a very reasonable price. 2009-02-14 Valentines Party

2008-03-01 Forever Verde was a blast!
http://share.escrip.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8CZNnDFm3aMri
Yes, it was a blast. I hope everyone was just as excited too! I don’t remember drinking as much beer since we graduated ..
I guess the key there is ‘remember’… Being there with your classmates is really the best! You see everybody with a big wide smile on their face. Suddenly you are young again. You were there. Life was easy! We saw old faces … some are hard to recall … some did not change … an a few still look really hot! The touchy feely part was when we went to the second floor of the engineering building. My engbatch (’83) is the last batch with mounted pictures on the wall. We each took a pose pointing to our own picture on the wall. This is something you would not want to miss. Next time you have a chance to visit, make sure you look for your picture! Congratulations to the planning committee and DLSAA-Manila for organizing a very successful homecoming. Entertainers for the evening included Cynthia Patag and Randy Santiago. Both from Batch ‘83. Also our member Ron Diokno was tapped to help by the planning committee!
2008-01-05 Sinigang Night - Launching of Operation Alkansiya
http://share.escrip.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8CZNnDFm3aMoM
When Bro. Gus spoke to us in 2007 to discuss the One La Salle Scholarship fund, we were inspired by the far reaching and long term impact of the program. But we were faced with rising cost of fundraising events and the inherent lack of efficiency. Too much money was being spent on venue and services. Also after a very busy 2007, folks were not so interested in another major fund raising event. Economically, lots of members are not able to afford to participate in events that ‘costs’ hard earned money. During our 2007 ‘Tinola Night’, Operation Alkansiya was proposed and approved. It is a good way for almost 100% of money collected, make its way to One La Salle. We also created an ‘installment’ giving process that allowed members to contribute a small amount on a monthly basis and still make a big tax deductible impact at the end of the year.
2007-12-02 Christmas Party
http://share.escrip.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8CZNnDFm3aMd2
One of the problems we had in our chapter was the lack of new members. We used the invite to our ‘Free’ Christmas Party to spread the word. We received new members and also invited other friends. This event changed how we measure the success of our activities. We started measuring success by the number of new alumni we would meet.

We were fortunate to have Br. Gus break bread with us at the residence of alumni member Max Jalandoni with help of his wife Nadine. He gave us an in depth profile of Bahay Pagasa and the One La Salle scholarship program. My best take away from the meeting was his reassuring words that the brothers are constantly praying for the health and well being of each and every La Salle Alumni! Animo La Salle!

Shortly after our gala, we were off to Toronto! Members of our chapter attended and I was able to share our goals during the plenary session. As a Christian school we want to foster camaraderie and friendship among our members, through our three main thrusts, Faith, Health and Wealth were well received. We want activities that glorify the name of God through prayer groups, active participation and organization of the monthly Filipino Mass and retreats. We also want to ensure that our membership is conscious of their health through Health Awareness Seminars and through the formation of our Biker and Hikers club. And finally wealth opportunities were always on our mind. We would like to encourage business ownership to be explored by our members who mostly have a salary based income.
